Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis or more commonly known as TB is an infectious disease caused by a bacteria named “Mcobacterium Tuberculosis”. The common organ that is affected by this disease is lungs but it can affect any other part of the body. TB was considered not curable until a few decades ago and it usually led to death. But advancements in modern Homeopathy has given rise to effective medication that would completely and permanently cure TB.

Symptoms

Patients suffering from Tuberculosis will often experience the following symptoms

  • Severe cough lasting at least 3 weeks
  • Coughing up blood or excessive amount of phlegm
  • Severe weakness and fatigue
  • Loss of weight
  • Lack of appetite
  • Fever with chills
  • Lack of sleep and sweating at night

Symptoms may not appear until months after the person is infected. They slowly start with consistent cough and can include one or more of the above symptoms. If our immune system could not contain the spread of the disease beyond lungs, TB can affect other vital organs of the body and the symptoms vary depending on the organ affected.

Causes

The bacteria that causes Tuberculosis can be transmitted from person to person though not via direct contact. One can get infected by the disease by inhaling the air which consists of infected particles such as sputum. Though touching or shaking hands do not diectly transmit bacteria from one person to other, if the infected person coughs, sneezes, shouts, or spits, people who are nearby can inhale the bacteria into their lungs causing the disease.

There are also certain risk factors involved that could increase the vulnerability of the human body to TB. They are

  • Living with person suffering from active TB
  • Unhygienic living
  • Poor dietary habits
  • Environmental changes
  • Excessive alcoholic and drug consumption
  • Diabetes, cancer, and HIV infection

Our immune system usually tries to make the TB that generally affects the lungs to become inactive or dormant. In such cases, the bacteria does not reproduce and other organs are not affected. But in case of weak immune system, the bacteria can reproduce and can spread to other parts of the body causing more complications.
